The Art Of Lifestyle

Today’s busy world takes a toll on our physical and emotional health. Life is lived in the fast lane, we assign little time for rest and rejuvenation, the candle gets burnt at both ends and our minds are overloaded with junk thoughts.  And we feed into it.  We spend our lives seeking relief in material pursuits; dating, shopping, drinking, cars, clothes, accessories … The result?  You hear it everywhere:

  • Fatigue
  • Allergies
  • Mood Swings
  • Insomnia
  • Digestive Issues
  • Headaches
  • Muscular Pain
  • Colds

Naturopathically we refer to these symptoms as lifestyle disorders.  Consequently, if these symptoms are lifestyle related then how can you expect relief without making lifestyle modifications?  Yet people invariably seek prescription pills to relieve themselves, intending to continue a fast-paced junk lifestyle.  Your lifestyle can be your medicine or your lifestyle can be your poison.  Below is a talk we gave on the importance of lifestyle over our health – starts on 1 minutes 17):

Naturopathy is a system of education as well as a system of healthcare.  An education in the art of lifestyle.  Everyone that sees a Naturopath receives guidelines in nutrition, juicing, cleansing the body, exercise, mindfulness and meditation.  These are all practices that boost immunity bringing peace of mind.  Junk lifestyle habits get shown the door.

Ever heard the expression “prevention is better than cure”?  That’s Naturopathy in a nutshell.  Treat it in its earliest stage rather than allowing it to become chronic.  The Naturopathic physician creates a personal treatment plan for each client that considers both physical and emotional requirements.
